Birria Huentitan Restaurant, nestled at 4019 W North Ave, Chicago, IL, is a stunning culinary gem that captures the essence of authentic Mexican cuisine. With an unassuming exterior, this restaurant surprises patrons with a vibrant menu that brings a taste of Mexico to the Windy City. The highlight of the offerings is undeniably the Quesa-Birria, praised by multiple customers for its rich, cheesy flavor and perfectly cooked goat meat. As Hudson Witzig Gomez noted, the dish transcends expectations, especially when paired with the savory broth for dipping.
Beyond the Quesa-Birria, the menu showcases an excellent array of tacos, including carne asada, lengua, and cabeza. Ivan Ramirez speaks highly of the substantial portions, making a meal of three to four tacos a fulfilling endeavor, reminiscent of the taco culture found in Little Village. Add the friendly staff and responsive service into the mix, and you have a dining experience that feels warm and welcoming, as highlighted by Jessica Zinna, who also raves about the rarity of white queso in the area.

Excellent Mexican food! Doesn’t look anything special on the outside, but they serve some great food. Very nice staff, prompt service, and a clean environment. I’d like to rave a little about the Quesa-Birria here... I’ve never had Birria (goat meat) before, so wasn’t sure if I’d like it. I ordered it in a regular taco, and it was good enough. Similar to steak. Then I tried the Quesa-Birria, and boy oh boy, it was delicious! The picture shows what it looks like. So, so good. They serve a bit of the meat broth with it for dipping, but it makes a good soup, too. Just fantastic stuff, I’d definitely order it again.
This place is amazing! Friendly service and delicious food. Their white queso was great (and is a hard item to find in Chicago). We loved the horchata and the generous portion. Their quesabirria goat tacos were so crispy, cheesey, and rich. Highly recommend coming in!
Best tacos in the area! Carne asada, birria, lengua, cabeza. Chorizo... get them all. Solid size tacos so you are good with 3-4. Reminds me of Little Village south side tacos.
Got delivery. Was great! The birria was amazing with the sauce. And I got a cabeza torta for tomorrow. I can't wait to open it for lunch! Thanks and I will be back next time i am in town!
This place is a classic in this neighborhood! The food is always great and prices are comparable to others. Open late and fast to-go orders!
The best authentic simple Mexican food in the city. Their Al Pastor rivals the best that I’ve had in Mexico City. I no longer live in Chicago, but whenever I’m in the city, I make it a point to eat here even if it’s two hours out of my way. It’s that good!
I keep telling the cook for years more than 30 years not to give me the burritos greasy and when I open my back and grab the burrito they're off with a grease but it's good. I still love their food
I haven’t had a burrito from here in 15 years n it still tastes the same I love this place
